Some hunting outfitters offer pre hunting season discounts in order to ensure that they can book enough hunters to cover their fixed operating costs. Or they might offer some mid-season discounts after the target number of hunters have been met.

Sometimes an outfitter simply sets their price according to the minimum number of hunters they expect to get from local, regulatory agencies, but if their quota is actually higher than that number, then it allows them to offer a discount price.

Or they may simply have an open spot open they wish to fill due to a last minute cancellation.

Discounted hunts, like all hunts on the Internet, come directly from the outfitters themselves, with absolutely no middle man at no extra cost.

What is a cancellation hunt?
A cancellation hunt is usually one of the best bargains on the entire market, especially when it comes to hunts that are high in demand, like dangerous game hunts or mountain hunts like sheep or mountain goat.

The hunt was cancelled for one reason or another.
Many hunting trips are planned and booked a year or two in advance, and of course a non-refundable deposit is required. Many situations however, (including births, deaths, marriages, health issues and business or job related promotions) can occur between the time the hunt was booked and the hunt date, and this can cause hunters to be forced to cancel their hunt.

So the outfitter is looking for a replacement for the cancellation.
Outfitters invest a lot of money and effort into preparing for their booked hunts. The deposit may not cover this investment entirely, and it almost certainly won’t compensate for any lost profits. Therefore, the outfitter wants to find a replacement hunter as quickly as possible. The usual practice is to discount the price of the hunt in the amount of the deposit on hand.

This becomes a much better deal for you!
Sometimes you can expect an even better deal. Cancellation hunts can easily provide hunters with an opportunity to hunt such iconic species as mountain goats, sheep, moose, buffalo, leopard, lions, Alaskan grizzly or brown bears, well within their budget.

Absolutely for free.  And if that youngster harvests a deer, or even multiple deer, it doesn’t affect the number of deer that you, the adult hunter can harvest.  And we’ll feed that youngster very well during their stay !  And you know how much food a kid these days can eat !

In my 40 plus years of guiding black bear hunters, we have hosted over 2000 clients and have taken over 1500 black bears. I have owned and operated bear hunting camps stretching from the forest fringe lands in eastern Saskatchewan, all the way to the humid forest in and around the Hudson Bay area. 

At the turn of the century I found my home! Northern Saskatchewan. This remote wilderness is full of solitude and tranquility and offers an affordable opportunity for bear hunting in territory and areas rarely seen by humans. This gives us an excellent chance to harvest those once in a life time trophy animals, and for most bear hunters, that’s what its all about.

We run a large number of active black bear baits.  Our baiting stations are spread over a vast area. By spreading our bait stations out, we don’t attract any of the same bears to to any of our other bait stations. Each of our clients has at least four different active baits stations over which to hunt during their 5 day hunt.

Because of the hard work and dedication by myself and my dedicated staff, we can proudly say that we’ve placed over 1000 bears in the record books, in both the Pope & Young as well as Boone & Crockett records. While some of our clients choose not to have their trophies officially scored, quite a few do. At one time we had several bears in the top 10. While we know that you can’t please everyone, we certainly do try.
